Schuey back on top!

The news that, regardless of the final points standings, the winner of the most races will now win the championship has thrown up a bit of a conundrum.

There has been a bit of whingeing from some quarters about the change but most people think it is a good idea: no more tooling around for second place and playing it safe, it’s all-out for the flag – at least that’s the plan.

However, statisticians have discovered that during his glory years in the first half of this decade, Michael Schumacher often continued to rack up wins after he’d won the championship – meaning that, on countback, Schuey is owed an eighth title.

The lawyers are poring over the small print but sadly it is looking even more ominous for Lewis Hamilton’s chances of retaining his title this year.
